I've been gone for a while. So I figure I provide an update for you guys.
I traveled and I've been working on my photography and my documentary.
1.) I've been connecting with my inner hipster:)
Vintage sweaters, raiding my grandma's closet, indie bands, alternative music, ZERO radio, organic food...ALL of that. I even ventured into my great grandmother's closet and found an apron from the 50's.
2.) I traveled to South Carolina and experienced true gullah culture. For those of you that don't know what gullah is... I'll educate you. I would describe it as a mixture of African and West Indian culture. They speak patois, they eat lots of caribbean food that has a traditional southern influence. They remind me of the Indian family in "Bend it like Beckham". Very traditional, lots of food, matriarchal, wedding/family oriented etc. They have very specific ideas about beauty and tradition and what is lady like.(not me)
3.)Then I flew back home BY MYSELF!!!
4.) I've been telling the world about Sri Lanka!!!
I'm sooo invested in the civil war in Sri Lanka. It baffles me that there is no one talking about it in America besides me and M.I.A! lol! The Tamils and Sri Lankan civilians are invisible in America and no one is doing anything about it...I'm going to stop before this becomes a novel
5.) I've been Henna-ing my self and getting Eastern!!!
This photo is so beautiful! IDK who it comes from, but I love it. I'm a visual person and I love colours. The tapestry and texiles of the east are obsessing me at the moment!!! I've convinced myself that I'm going to dress up like an Indian Gypsie at my wedding! LOL!( I haven't told my mom that)! Her kaja; and the stain of her lips is sooo pretty! I'm seriously going to revamp my day-time look.

Other than that, nothing else has been happening but I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Ombrigada:)
